NVIDIA, the semiconductor giant whose market value has been steadily increasing in recent times, is introducing new graphics cards while simultaneously discontinuing production of models it considers outdated. Having stopped production of the RTX 3060 Ti graphics card last year, NVIDIA has now decided to halt production of the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630.
End of production for NVIDIA GTX 1650 and GTX 1630
In line with its announcement towards the end of last year, NVIDIA has ceased production of the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630 graphics cards, released in 2019 and 2022 respectively, as of this week. Accordingly, the brand will not replenish stocks for these card models based on the Turing architecture. The models will remain on shelves until existing stocks are depleted.
While NVIDIA has discontinued production of these graphics cards, it will continue to provide driver support. The company still releases updates even for the GTX 700 series, launched in 2013. Therefore, we can say there is still time for the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630.
The NVIDIA GTX 1650 and GTX 1630 graphics card models are quite popular among gamers due to their budget-friendly nature. In fact, according to data shared by the digital game store Steam for February 2024, the GTX 1650 is the second most common graphics card, used in 4.23% of computers.
